Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a very rare WWI period American Red Cross hat badge made overseas in France. The badge reads AMERICAN RED CROSS and shows a red cross at center. It is similar in size and design to the Norton-Harjes Ambulance Corps hat badge, which was made in the US, but has slight color variations, adn is more convex. It si hte only one we've encountered, and may very well ahve been worn by a member of the Norton-Harjes Ambulance Corps early in WWI.
