This is an extremely rare USAF jacket patch for the 82nd Fighter Squadron Jet, when they were stationed at Hamilton AFB in California from 11/48 until the unit was redesignated 82nd Fighter Interceptor Squadron in January of 1950.
VINTAGE:1949
SIZE:Approximately 5" in height x 3.5" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:The patch is of Chenille construction, on wool felt, with chainstitch details and a cotton gauze backing.
ATTACHMENT:To be sewn on.
MARKINGS:N/A.
