Description
This is an extremely rare Charlestown, Massachusetts Fire Department ranking member badge from the 1850s 0r 1860s. The badge is in gold-plated brass with a hand-engraved number in the bottom cartouche panel. The badge shows Bunker Hill, a local Revolutionary War battle site, in relief at its center and reads C.F.D. upon a banner above.
VINTAGE:Circa 1850s or 1860s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/4" in height and 1-11/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical safety-style pin silver-soldered to reverse of badge.
