Description
This is a wonderful circa early 1850s Marlboro (or Marlborough), Massachusetts Fire Association member badge. The badge is in coin silver with applied gilt brass lettering (MFA). The badge is in an embellished shield design and is numbered 32 on the front. It has a nice T-style pin and a maker mark from Worcester, Massachusetts.
VINTAGE:Circa early 1850s.
SIZE:Approximately 2" in height and 2-1/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Coin silver, gilt brass.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical brass T-style pin with C catch, brads for applied letters.
MARKINGS:32 on front; T.D. GARD WORCESTER on reverse.
