ARTIFACT: This is an Extremely Rare 1950's CLUTCH BACK US Forest Service Department of Agriculture Fire Warden Badge. Looks to have spent some time with at least the obverse of the badge on the ground. No doubt because of the poor choice of affixment. Only one we've seen in clutch-back.

VINTAGE: 1950s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-5/8" in height x 1-7/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: lacquered Bronze, brass clutch-back.

ATTACHMENT: Two posts with clutch-backs.

MARKINGS: N/A.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a fire fighting and rescue collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAJCM23 LFGEX12/16/23

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine - Excellent): The badge shows being underground or at least being face down on the ground. In acidic soil. It ate the lacquer off the front and caused it to darken. Overall, it is in very fine condition, and Only one we've seen in clutch-back.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
