ARTIFACT:
This is an early United States Army Air Forces pilot qualification badge for the F-86 Sabre jet fighter in the shape of that aircraft. This jet fighter began flying in 1947, and was retired in 1980.
VINTAGE:
Circa late 1940s.
SIZE:
Approximately 1/2" in height and 1" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Sterling silver.
ATTACHMENT:
Single post with disc backing.
MARKINGS:
STERLING SILVER.
