ARTIFACT:

This is an early United States Army Air Forces pilot qualification badge for the F-86 Sabre jet fighter in the shape of that aircraft. The F-86 began flying in 1947, and was retired in 1980.<

VINTAGE:

Circa late 1940s.

SIZE:

3/4" height and 1" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Sterling silver.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

STERLING SILVER.
