ARTIFACT:

This is an early twentieth century employee hat badge for the Arlington Gas Light Company (A. G. L. Co.) of Arlington, Massachusetts. The badge was made by Spencer Manufacturing of Boston and has a maker mark on reverse. The building which once housed the A.G. L. Co. is still standing and is on the National Historic Register.

VINTAGE:

Circa early 1900s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-3/8" in height and 2" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Nickel-plated brass, painted details.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal safety-style pin.

MARKINGS:

SPENCER MFG. 9 CORNHILL (BOSTON is hidden).
