ARTIFACT:

This is a circa early 1950s Special Investigator badge from the radio show "Junior G-Men". Beginning in 1936, the show was hosted by ex-FBI man and successful pursuer of John Dillinger, Melvin Purvis. "Junior G-Men" clubs sprang up and took the nation by storm in line with the romanticized crime-fighting mentality of the era.

VINTAGE:

Circa early 1950s.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-3/16" in height and 1-1/4" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Painted tin.

ATTACHMENT:

Fold-over tab.

MARKINGS:

Union mark, F.
