This is an early Illinois Special Automobile Investigator badge. The badge reads ILLINOIS 1916 SPECIAL AUTOMOBILE INVESTIGATOR 1079 SECRETARY OF STATE and shows the State of Illinois seal at center.
VINTAGE:Circa 1916.
SIZE:2-3/16" height and 1-3/4" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical safety-style pin.
