ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1891 Alert No. 1 Goodwill Fire Co. of Belvidere, New Jersey parade ribbon from Phillipsburg, New Jersey. The red and blue ribbon has a brass bar at the top showing fire equipment in relief. It was made by C.S. Martindell of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and has a manufacturer tag on reverse.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1891.

SIZE:

Approximately 6-7/8" in height and 2-5/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Silk, plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal safety-style pin.

MARKINGS:

C.S. Martindell BADGES 140 S. 8th St. Phila.
