ARTIFACT:
Dusty, attic-fresh Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Slouch Hat. This soft, wool felt slouch hat features a wreathed hat badge with the letters: "GAR" in the center and above the number: "12" (separate numbers with pin prong backings). The hat features a gold rope and silk ribbon around the crown. Inside remains a remarkable union tag which reads: "THE UNITED HATTERS OF NORTH AMERICA REGISTERED" and a second tag shows the

Size 6-7/8 Measures approximately - Ear to Ear: 6-3/4"; Front to back: 8"; Brim 11-1/4" x 13"

CONDITION:
5+ (Fine-): The slouch hat shows moderate to heavy use and/or storage/age wear mostly to ribbon, overall light discoloration and moderate soiling with heavy dust and a few areas of separation, the badge shows moderate wear, much of the plating details remain intact, fabulous original paper union label intact.
