1880s-1890s Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Veterans' Souvenir "Slouch Hat" Badge

This is a circa 1880s-1890s veteran's souvenir badge for the Grand Army of the Republic, a fraternal organization for the Union veterans of the Civil War. It is in the shape of a three-dimensional "slouch hat" and has an attached eagle lapel pin.

Circa 1880s-1890s.

Hat: approximately 2-1/4" in length and 13/16" in height and 2-1/8" in width; eagle: approximately 1-1/2" in width and 5/8" in height.

Hat: steel with painted details: eagle: plated brass.

Hat: small hole; eagle pin: horizontal safety-style pin.
