Description
This is a circa 1957 M-6 bayonet for the M-1 Garand rifle. The bayonet is sheathed in an M-8 scabbard from World War II.
VINTAGE:Circa 1957 (scabbard is from World War II).
SIZE:Approximately by 12-3/4" in length and 2-7/8" in width at widest part (sheathed).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Steel, hard resin plastic, cotton, nickel; scabbard: cast resin with woven fiber for structure.
ATTACHMENT:Clip, snap on scabbard strap, hole st scabbard bottom.
MARKINGS:USM6 MILPAR COL (on knife); USM8 B.M. CO. with maker mark and VP maker mark 28 (on scabbard).

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The bayonet is in very good shape with some small spots of wear and oxidation; the scabbard shows some small areas of light to medium wear and tarnish.
