Circa 1950 (Korean War) NAS Alameda Overhaul & Repair Dept. Restricted Area Pass

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1950 restricted areas pass badge for the United States Naval Air Station Alameda Overhaul and Repair (O&R) Department. NAS Alameda was instituted on November 1, 1940 and their Assembly and Repair (A&R) Department was redesignated the O&R Department in the summer of 194The badge has a large, bold "R" at its center and is numbered 3 (III).

VINTAGE:

Circa 1950 (early Korean War).

SIZE:

Approximately 2-1/16" in width and 2-11/16" in height.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Clear celluloid, paper.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch, clear saddle.

MARKINGS:

Patent number on pin.
