Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a World War II United States Army Transport Service officer hat badge in bullion on its original band. The back of the badge has a GEMSCO maker label still affixed. The badge shows a large golden bullion eagle with a red, white and blue embroidered crest upon its breast.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 3-3/8" in height and 24-3/4" in length.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Wool embroidered in bullion and cotton/silk threads, cotton band.

ATTACHMENT:

Band.

MARKINGS:

Background: All Wool Exclusive of Ornamentation" GEMSCO NEW YORK.
