BEING RESEARCHED - 1940s-50s? Winged Star Hat Badge by Balfour - NOT FOR SALE UNTIL IDed

This is an unidentified hat or cap badge by Balfour. The badge is a winged star with the wing standing out at a 45 degree angle.

Circa 1940s - 1950s.

Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 1-3/8" in width.

Silver-plated brass.

Diagonal pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
