Description
Beautiful WWI United States Army 80th Division, 314th Machine Gun Regiment, Company A painted helmet. The front of the helmet bears the 314th Machine Gun distinctive symbol of a painted shield; half red half white with a white painted letter "A" above. The side of the helmet is painted with the 80th Infantry Division insignia, or the "Blue Ridge", three blue 'mountain' tops inside of a white outline. The underside of the back rim of the helmet shows: "ZB65" stamped into the steel (see photo). Nearly the entire helmet lining is intact, the leather has hardened a bit over the years, but looks beautiful. Overall, the helmet is a great example in remarkable condition!
