Beautiful Miniature WWII German Mother's Cross (Mutterkreuz), 2nd Class in Silver with Bow

This is a beautiful miniature German Mother's Cross (Mutterkreuz), 2nd Class Order in silver with a bow. The Mother's Cross, formally known as the Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter (Cross of Honour of the German Mother) was instituted on December 16, 1938, and given out starting the next year through May 194It was awarded to mothers of at least four well-bred children who would grow up and render service to the Fatherland. The silver version was given for many offspring: this medal was awarded for rearing six or seven eligible children. It is in enameled plated brass and hangs from a silk ribbon.

Circa World War II.

Approximately 1-1/4" in height and 1-5/8" in width.

Plated brass, enamel, silk.

Ribbon, safety-style pin.
