Description
Scarce WWII miniature German Mother's Cross (Mutterkreuz), 3rd Class Order in bronze with a bow. The Mother's Cross, formally known as the Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter (Cross of Honour of the German Mother) was instituted on December 16, 1938, and given out starting the next year through May 194It was awarded to mothers of at least four well-bred children who would grow up and render service to the Fatherland. The silver version was given for many offspring: this medal was awarded for rearing four to five children. It is in enameled plated bronze and hangs from a blue and white silk ribbon tied in a bow.
