Beautiful late 1930's badge for the French Army 40th Reconnaissance Group, Infantry Division (40° Groupe de Reconnaissance de Division d'Infanterie or GR 40). The badge shows a knight chess piece enameled in blue against a split red and green background and is maker marked by Mourgeon Paris.
