ARTIFACT: Beautiful late 1930's badge for the French Army 40th Reconnaissance Group, Infantry Division (40° Groupe de Reconnaissance de Division d'Infanterie or GR 40). The badge shows a knight chess piece enameled in blue against a split red and green background and is maker marked by Mourgeon Paris.

VINTAGE: Circa late 1930's

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/2" x 1-1/4"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Enameled, plated brass

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety style pin

MARKINGS: "MOURGEON PARIS"

ITEM NOTES: This is from a French militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAJX16 LADEX5/16

CONDITION: 6+ (Fine - Very Fine): The badge shows moderate wear, much of the enamel and plated details remain intact, overall very fine condition.
