Beautiful Late 1930s French Army 40th Reconnaissance Group (GR 40) Badge

This is a beautiful circa late 1930s badge for the French Army 40th Reconnaissance Group, Infantry Division (40° Groupe de Reconnaissance de Division d'Infanterie or GR 40). The badge shows a knight chess piece enameled in blue against a split red and green background.

Circa late 1930s.

Approximately 1-9/16" in height and 1-1/4" in width.

Plated brass, enamel.

Vertical safety-style pin with saddle.
