Description
This is a beautiful minty United States Navy Patrol Squadron 23 patch and party ticket for the farewell party of VP-23 Hurricane Hunters" on April 12, 1952 when the squadron left Miami, Florida. The patch shows an eagle carrying a spyglass and a bomb.
VINTAGE:Circa 1950-1952.
SIZE:Patch: about 5-1/2" in diameter; Party Ticket: about 3-7/8" in width by 2-5/16" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Patch is almost fully embroidered with cotton/poly embroidery thread on wool felt with a ¼" felt border; Party ticket is printed card stock.
ATTACHMENT:Patch is to be sewn onto garment; n/a for ticket.

CONDITION:9- (Excellent+): Very minor wear to the patch, some very minor moth nipping to edges of felt; the ticket has some wear to the edges and what looks like residue from tape on two sides.
