ARTIFACT:

This is an absolutely 1870 New York City Dockmaster Badge in Heavy Solid Silver by Tiffany & Co.

Darrow, a prominent New York City name in the 2nd half of the 19th Century, is scratched on the back, no doubt the surname of the original wearer.

VINTAGE:

1870S.

SIZE:

Approximately: 2-5/16" in height x 1-7/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Sterling silver, hard fired blue enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical T- pin with Tube style catch.
