Description
Stunning, large, and heavy (over 9 ounces) 1910 Mexico Centenary of Independence Medal in sterling silver by Tiffany & Co. The medal commemorates the first 100 years of the Mexican Republic and the front shows Victory standing with a downed sword in one hand and lifting torch with the other and below her it reads: "ALISVOLAT PROPRIIS ("She Flies With Her Own Wings") in embossed lettering. The reverse depicts a wreath of olive and oak branches and reads "LA REPUBLICA MEXICANA EN EL PRIMER CENTENARIO DE LA PROCLAMACION DE SU INDEPENDENCIA 1810 -- 1910".
