This is a nineteenth century billy club made of lignum vitae, a very durable wood from which cricket and croquet balls are usually made. The club may have been used either by a police officer or in a nautical setting. The club is short and solid with concentric grooves on its handle.
VINTAGE:Circa 19th century.
SIZE:12-3/4" length and 1-9/16" diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wood.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): Club shows light to medium wear and has a few very small surface cracks at either end.
