ARTIFACT: This is a beautiful circa 1880s police billy club made of lignum vitae, a very durable wood from which cricket and croquet balls are usually made. The lovely burled wood of the club has some age cracking. The club also has a grooved grip and a remnant of the original leather strap. This club came to us along with a circa 1890s-1900s police sap that is for sale separately (please see link at bottom of page for more information).

VINTAGE: Circa 1880s.

SIZE: Approximately 11" in length and 1-1/2" in diameter (at thickest end).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Lignum vitae (wood), leather.

ATTACHMENT: Strap remnant.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a police and law enforcement collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. SHOP VEX13 LABEX4/13 SABEX3/14

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The billy club has some age cracks; a remnant of original leather strap is present.
