Description
This is a beautiful circa 1880s police billy club made of lignum vitae, a very durable wood from which cricket and croquet balls are usually made. The lovely burled wood of the club has some age cracking. The club also has a grooved grip and a remnant of the original leather strap. This club came to us along with a circa 1890s-1900s police sap that is for sale separately (please see link at bottom of page for more information).
VINTAGE:Circa 1880s.
SIZE:Approximately 11" in length and 1-1/2" in diameter (at thickest end).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Lignum vitae (wood), leather.
ATTACHMENT:Strap remnant.
