Rare Ca 1900 New York City Police Baton or Billy Club with Brass Badge No. Tag of Orig Owner

This is a rare circa 1900 police baton or billy club from the New York City Police Department. This handsome reddish wood baton has an affixed brass tag bearing the original owner's badge number. The baton has a decorative handle and is in very nice shape with the most wear being to the "business end" of the stick.

Approximately 23-1/2" in length and 1-5/8" in width (across widest part of handle).
