This is a circa 1980s pocket patch for the United States Navy USS Glenard P. Lipscomb (SSN-685), a submarine designed using turbo-electric power. Launched August 4, 1973, the boat was named for a California congressman. She was decommissioned in 1990. The patch shows an eagle and globe-topped sword flanked by two dolphins.
VINTAGE:Circa 1980s.
SIZE:Approximately 6-1/4" in height and 4-5/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester threads.
