This is a patch for the USS Swordfish (SSN-579) bearing the logo Audaces Fortuna Juvat" (fortune favors the bold). The Swordfish was launched at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in New Hampshire on August 27, 195She was decommissioned on June 2, 1989.
VINTAGE:Circa 1980's.
SIZE:About 4-3/4" in width by 5" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered with cotton embroidery thread.
ATTACHMENT:To be sewn onto uniform or deck jacket.
MARKINGS:None.
