ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1930s 9th Alpine Chasseurs Bataillon (9th Alpine Group) badge. The badge is by Arthus Bertrand, and is a large horn with a wild boar at its center. The 9th's motto reads NE RECULE NI NE DEVIE (never retreat or deviate).

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-5/8" in height and 1-3/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Two loops (bent).

MARKINGS:

AB PARIS.
