ARTIFACT:

This is a 1966 "slim" Zippo lighter for the United States Navy ship USS Winston AKA-94, with a privately engraved presentation from the Commanding Officer, Captain W.L. Bennnett. Launched November 30, 1944, Winston was an attack cargo ship that saw lots of service in Vietnam. The lighter has painted details on the front.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1966.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-1/4" height and 1-3/8" width and 3/8" in thickness.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Chrome-plated brass, painted details.

ATTACHMENT:

Hinge.

MARKINGS:

CAPT. W.L. BENNETT, USN COMMANDING OFFICER on reverse lid; IIII ZIPPO ยจ IIII on bottom.
