This is a 1960s distinctive insignia for the United States 1st Artillery by A.H. Dondero. The DI shows a stand of grape between two cacti and reads PRIMUS INTER PARES (First among equals).
VINTAGE:Circa 1960s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/8" in height 1-5/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts.
MARKINGS:A.H. DONDERO, INC. WASH. D.C. D-21.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The DI has some small areas of light wear and all enamel is intact.
