This is a 1960s distinctive insignia for the United States 18th Air Defense Artillery Group by N.S. Meyer. The DI shows a crossed shell and Nike missile, with a red fleur-de-lis at their intersection and a red arrowhead above. The DI reads DEFENSE IN DEPTH.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/8" in height 1-3/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts.
MARKINGS:N.S. MEYER INC. NEW YORK with maker mark and 22M in crest.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The DI has only light wear and tarnish and all enamel is intact.
