This is a 1960s distinctive insignia for the United States 1st Artillery by N.S. Meyer. The DI shows a stand of grape between two cacti and reads PRIMUS INTER PARES (First among equals).
VINTAGE:Circa 1960s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/8" in height 1-3/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts.
MARKINGS:N.S. MEYER INC. NEW YORK with maker mark and 22M in crest.

CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): The DI has only very light wear and all enamel is intact.
