This is a 1960s distinctive insignia for the United States 512th Artillery Group by Meyer. The DI shows a torii (Japanese shrine gate) at its center against a blue circle. Two bands above and below this bear two fleur-de-lis each. The DI has a pebbled texture with a hard-to-read maker mark on its reverse and reads VALOR ABOVE ALL.
VINTAGE:Circa 1960s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/8" in height 1-1/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts.
MARKINGS:N.S. MEYER INC. NEW YORK, maker mark, shield with 22M.
