This is a 1960s distinctive insignia for the United States 4th Engineer Battalion by Emblem Supply Co. The DI shows an anchor with two crossed oars in the upper left-hand corner and two red and one white wavy bands. The DI reads VOLENS ET POTENS (willing and able).
VINTAGE:Circa 1960s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/8" in height 1-1/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts (one missing).
MARKINGS:E-23.
ITEM NOTES:The DI you receive will either be this one or one in very similar condition. This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months VAL90 LABX10/11
CONDITION:7- (Very Fine-): The DI shows some small spots of light wear; one post is missing.
