Description
This is a 1950s distinctive insignia for the United States 10th Engineer Combat Battalion by Meyer. The DI is a crest with many symbols: two crescents representing General Scott's coat of arms, a gear wreathed by oak leaves, two crossed oars and an anchor (the insignia of the Engineers of the Army of the Potomac), and a 7 pointed Australian cap badge. The DI reads LABORAMUS SUSTINERE (we work to assist).
VINTAGE:Circa 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/4" in height and 7/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch (swivel part of catch is missing).
MARKINGS:N.S. MEYER INC. NEW YORK and maker mark.

CONDITION:7- (Very Fine-): The DI shows some light wear and tarnish only; swivel part of catch is missing.
