ARTIFACT: This is a decommissioning party booklet for the USS Hardhead (SS-365) that has a great logo of a donkey kicking an enemy submarine on the front. The party was held on February 15, 1946 at Hunter's Point, San Francisco, and the Hardhead was officially decommissioned on May 10 after six successful combat patrols in the Pacific in under three years. The booklet includes a list of the officers and crew, as well as an itinerary for the party, and is signed by the "Belles of the Ball" and others present.

VINTAGE: Circa 1946.

SIZE: 11" height and 8-1/2" width (folded in quarters).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Printed paper.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBJX06 LADEX8/10 SADEX4/11

CONDITION: 6 (Fine): Booklet is somewhat discolored, mostly on the reverse, and has heavily worn creasing with a very slight hole in the center and moderate wear on edges.
