This is a 1940s distinctive insignia for the United States 1st Engineer Battalion by Meyer. The DI shows an anchor with two crossed oars flanked by two crescents, and also a fleur-de-lis and a lion rampant divided by a diagonal red bend.
VINTAGE:Circa 1940s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/16" in height 1" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with drop-in swivel locking catch.
MARKINGS:None.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months VAL90 LBDX10/11
CONDITION:7 (Very Finet): The DI shows some light to moderate abrasions and has one small spot of discoloration on the anchor.
