ARTIFACT:

This is a 1940s distinctive insignia for the United States 1st Engineer Battalion by Meyer. The DI shows an anchor with two crossed oars flanked by two crescents, and also a fleur-de-lis and a lion rampant divided by a diagonal red bend.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1940s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-3/16" in height 1" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with drop-in swivel locking catch.

MARKINGS:

None.

CONDITION:

7 (Very Finet): The DI shows some light to moderate abrasions and has one small spot of discoloration on the anchor.
