This is a 1940 Submarine launch ribbon for the USS Sailfish. This ship was originally the USS Squalus SS-192, launched from Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard on September 14th, 193It was sunk off Rye, NH and the raised on May 24-25, 1939 when 33 were rescued. The ship was then decommissioned that November and recommissioned as the USS Sailfish on May 15th, 1940.
VINTAGE:Circa 1940.
SIZE:About 2-1/4" in width by 4-7/8" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Printed silk.
