Description
This is a circa 1931 student medal for the School of Governing Offices of Rome, or Governatorato Roma. The award was given out each year to a student who achieved scholastic merit: this one was given out in 1931, the 9th (IX) year of the Fascist era. This medal is the silver level, and there was also a bronze counterpart. The medal hangs from a red and gold ribbon displaying the colors of Rome.
VINTAGE:Circa 1931.
SIZE:Approximately 1-7/16" in width and 3-5/16" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silvered brass, silk.
ATTACHMENT:Ribbon.
MARKINGS:A IX (for ninth year).

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The medal has some small areas of wear and tarnish and the ribbon has a couple of pin holes.
