This is an 1889 dated Malden Rifles, Massachusetts Volunteer Militia (MVM) marksmanship silver, or second place, medal award. Hanging from a bar is a rectangular plate with a bull's-eye target at its center. The reverse of the medal is engraved with the award date.
VINTAGE:Circa 1889.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/4" in height by 1" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Coin silver.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal T-pin on bar with C catch, chain links.
MARKINGS:DEC. 7 '89.

CONDITION:6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The medal has some moderate wear/tarnish and light oxidation on the catch.
