ARTIFACT:
Beautiful 1915 Chicago Musical College Silver Meriut / Merit Medal awarded to Nellie B. Larkin in 7th grade for piano. The lovely engraved medal is sterling silver with gold-filled or 10K gold monogram logo of a harp and the letters "CCM" encircled with a wreath. Stamped letters reading: "CHICAGO MUSICAL COLLEGE MERUIT" (Latin for merit) surround the logo in black, hard fired enamel. The reverse engraving reads "AWARDED TO NELLIE B. LARKIN SEVENTH GRADE PIANO 1915". The Chicago Musical College has many esteemed directors and alumni, among them Ray Charles, Vivian Fine, Storm Bull, Irene Dunne, and many more.
