This is a 1930's - World War II distinctive insignia for the United States Army 11th Coast Artillery Regiment. The DI shows a black and white bird and reads AUDAX ET VIGILANS (daring and vigilant).
VINTAGE:Circa late 1930's - World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1" in height and 1" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with come-under locking catch (swivel part of catch is missing).
MARKINGS:None.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months VAL90 LBDX12/11 SBDX08/20
CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The DI shows some light abrasions and small spots of minor discoloration; swivel part of catch is missing.
