Description
This is a circa 1930s DLRG, or Deutsche Lebens-Rettungs-Gesellschaft e.V. (German Lifeguard Association) certificate award silver lapel pin. The group was formed in 1913 as a response measure to a tragedy where several people drowned after a pier collapsed in Rügen. The pin is oval with a vigilant eagle at its center, and reads PRÜFUNGSCHEIN (certificate) along the border.
VINTAGE:Circa 1930s.
SIZE:Approximately 5/8" in height and 15/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal safety-style pin with saddle.
