ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1930s DLRG, or Deutsche Lebens-Rettungs-Gesellschaft e.V. (German Lifeguard Association) certificate award silver lapel pin. The group was formed in 1913 as a response measure to a tragedy where several people drowned after a pier collapsed in Rügen. The pin is oval with a vigilant eagle at its center, and reads PRÜFUNGSCHEIN (certificate) along the border.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 5/8" in height and 15/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin with saddle.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Nazi Germany collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VCL95 LDIX12/12 SDEX12/14

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge has some areas of light to medium wear and tarnish.
