ARTIFACT: Great vintage 1920's – 1930's Brass Social Security Card of Harry Inden. The card shows an eagle soaring in the center of two large letters "S" and below it reads: "AS REGISTERED WITH THE U. S. GOVERNMENT SOCIAL SECURITY NO. 099-09-7719 HARRY INDEN" and the very base reads "BUSCHS JEWELERS". The social security card comes along with Inden's 1930's Bethlehem Steel Signature ID Card. The ID card reads: "BETHLEHEM STEEL COMPANY (INCORPORATED) (ABC Checks and this card have the same watermark) SIGNATURE IDENTIFICATION CARD This card is as issued to identify employee". The top left corner shows an ABC "INSURED SYSTEM" trademark. The card was issued to "Harry Inden EE272" and is signed by Harry and witness. The very bottom of the Signature ID card reads: "GENUINE ONLY IF WATERMARKED ABC SYSTEM"

VINTAGE: Circa 1920's -1930's

SIZE: Approximately SS Card: 3 ¼" x 1 7/8"; Signature Card: 3 ¾" x 2 ½"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Brass, celluloid, and paper.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: SS Card: "BUSCHS JEWELERS"; Sig. ID: "ABC SYSTEMS" watermark

ITEM NOTES: This is from a manufacturing collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay VEM15 LEEX6/15

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The IDs both show moderate wear, celluloid is clouded and shows tiny cracks and a missing corner, the paper card inside is well protected and in great condition, the brass Social Security card is slightly bent possibly from being carried in wallet.
