ARTIFACT: Great WWII Homefront War Worker Photo ID & Card, Bethlehem Steel Co, Hoboken Yard. During WWII the United States Coast Guard Port at New York was for both US and Allied nations. The ID badge is a round steel disc that reads: "BETHLEHEM STEEL CO. HOBOKEN YARD" and the center features a photo under celluloid, beneath the photo reads: "EE 290 000526". The badge is suspended from a steel clip and leather backing, the reverse also features a vertical pin for alternate wear. The photo ID card reads: "UNITED STATES COAST GUARD IDENTIFICATION CARD, Captain of the Port NEW YORK" and was issued to "ELECTRICIAN" "HARRY INDEN" dated: "3/3/42". The reverse of the card shows a photo and fingerprint displaying the worker's signature below, to the side his date and place of birth, height, weight, hair and eye color, and citizenship." The two are great to have together!

SIZE: Approximately Badge: 3-1/4" x 2", ID Card: 3 5/8" x 2 3/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Steel, leather, celluloid, photo, cardstock and photo under laminate.

ATTACHMENT: Badge: Steel clip and vertical pin with drop-in swivel locking catch

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): Badge shows minor to moderate wear, some areas of oxidation, the celluloid and photo are in nice condition and the ID card shows minor use and storage wear.
