ARTIFACT: This is a 1920s-1930s United States Post Office postal cap badge from New York City, New York. The badge is oval in shape and is topped by an eagle with spread wings.

VINTAGE: Circa 1920s-1930s.

SIZE: 2" height and 2-1/2" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel or nickel on brass.

ATTACHMENT: Two loops where hat pin would have been affixed.

MARKINGS: "U.S. POST OFFICE NEW YORK, N.Y. / 2679 " on front and "N.C. WALTER & SONS / NEW YORK" on reverse.

CONDITION: 6 (Fine+): Badge has a moderate amount of tarnish; head of eagle has been bent.
