Description
1880's Nashua, New Hampshire "Blob Top" beer or soda bottle of bottler Nelson Lane. The bottle reads: "NELSON LANE NASHUA, N. H." in the center and beneath: "REGISTERED". The other side reads: "THIS BOTTLE NOT TO BE SOLD" in embossed detail. The underside of the Lightning Stopper reads: "LIGHTNING PAT'd." the remaining is hard to read (see photo). The underside of the bottle shows number: "72". There are visible side seams that run from the base of the bottle to just below the 'blob top', this is a sign the bottle was blown in the mold and the top was hand applied.
